Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – Police in The Gambia are investigating two separate alleged murder cases that occurred on Friday, January 31, 2025, in Sinchu Malado and Dippa Kunda. Both incidents involve family members as suspects in fatal stabbings.
Sinchu Malado Incident
In the first case, Brikamaba Police are probing the alleged murder of 40-year-old Karamo Jobe, who was fatally stabbed at his residence in Sinchu Malado. His wife, Haddy Boye, 21, has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) visited the scene, reconstructed the events, and recovered a knife believed to be the murder weapon. The victim’s body has been transferred to Bansang Hospital for further examination.
Dippa Kunda Incident
Meanwhile, Serekunda Police are investigating another alleged murder involving two siblings in Dippa Kunda. The suspect, 18-year-old Fatoumata Bintou Jallow, has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of her brother, 21-year-old Abdou Rahman Jallow.
According to police sources, CSI officers visited the crime scene early Saturday morning, February 1, 2025, to reconstruct the events and collect evidence. A knife suspected to be the murder weapon was recovered at the scene. The victim’s body has been transferred to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) for a possible postmortem examination.
The police have not yet disclosed possible motives for either case, but investigations are ongoing. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm as they continue gathering evidence and conducting interviews.
