Police Launch Probe Into Fatal D100 Dispute at Brusubi Phase II

Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – The Brusubi Police Station has opened an investigation into the alleged murder of a Liberian national following a dispute over a D100 debt that turned deadly on Saturday, 15 November 2025, at Brusubi Phase II.

The victim, identified as Saikou Freeman, a Liberian national, and the suspect, Muhammed Ali Jallow, a Sierra Leonean national, were co-workers at a local construction site.

According to the Gambia Police Force, preliminary findings indicate that a quarrel between the two men escalated into violence, during which the suspect allegedly inflicted a fatal injury on Freeman.

Construction workers at the site intervened and restrained the suspect before notifying the police. Freeman was rushed to the Sukuta Health Centre but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue.

In the aftermath of the incident, the GPF urged members of the public to report disputes early to prevent conflicts from spiralling into violence, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring swift and impartial justice.
