Portuguese Airline TAP Resumes Flights to Banjul

TAP-AIR

TAP has resumed its seasonal winter operations to Banjul, capital of The Gambia, with three flights per week on an Airbus A320 aircraft.

Flights depart Lisbon on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 8:40 pm, arriving in Banjul at 1:05 am the following day.

From Banjul, departures are on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 2:05 am, arriving in Lisbon at 6:10 am.

The Portuguese airline’s website indicates that the last departure of the operation to Banjul will be on March 28th.

TAP started its seasonal winter route to The Gambia in October 2019, suspended it during the pandemic and resumed operating it last year.

“On the edge of the Atlantic, on an island, at the mouth of a river, lies Banjul”, this is how the location of the capital of Gambia is described on the TAP website.

The airline recommends visiting the “colorful markets”, such as Albert Market, “a true panel of colors, made up of fruits, vegetables, instruments, paintings and trinkets”.

To learn about the history and culture of the country, TAP proposes visiting the National Museum of the Gambia or Arco 22. “You will learn a little more about this country that is completely surrounded by Senegal, with the exception of a gateway to the Atlantic” .

The airline also recommends leaving the capital to get to know the “various ethnic groups, each with their own language, culture and traditions, each with a lot to offer to those visiting the country”.
