President Adama Barrow has on on Sunday met Saudi Minister of Justice Walid Al-Samaani in Riyadh to discuss ways to further strengthen cooperation on judicial matters and labor.
In the same vein Barrow held talks with the Saudi Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi. Together, they reviewed Saudi labor market needs, demands and strategies and how they can benefit Teh Gambia.
Saudi officials hinted further that the meeting discussed Saudi initiatives launched by the ministry to attract workers from the around the world.
During the just ended Saudi-African Economic Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Vice Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor Dr. Abdullah Abu Thnain signed four agreements with The Gambia to recruit Gambian public and domestic workers.
“The agreements aim to set a framework for cooperation and to regulate the process of recruiting professional and domestic workers between the governments of Saudi Arabia and The Gambia,” according to Saudi official sources.
The same day he met with the Saudi Ministers of Justice and Human resources, President Adama Barrow, received in Riyadh, Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Echoes from the meeting have it that the Gambian President appreciated the efforts of the Secretary-General in leading the OIC, affirming his country’s support for these efforts, and for the OIC programs and projects.
The meeting discussed the outcome of the Summit, cooperation between The Gambia and the OIC, and issues of common interest.
