Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – CTM360, a Bahrain-based company specialized in preemptive cybersecurity solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Gambia’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) in a move aimed at strengthening the country’s national cybersecurity posture.
The agreement positions PURA, The Gambia’s multi-sectoral regulator and host of the national Computer Security Incident Response Team (gmCSIRT), to deepen its role in safeguarding the country’s digital ecosystem amid rising cyber threats.
Under the partnership, CTM360 will support PURA through a series of capacity-building initiatives designed to enhance cybersecurity capabilities across the country’s Critical National Infrastructures (CNIs).
These efforts will include specialized training programs, targeted workshops, and continuous knowledge-transfer sessions for key stakeholders in both the public and regulated sectors.
Mirza Asrar Baig, founder and Chief Executive Officer of CTM360, said the collaboration reflects the company’s broader mission to support regulatory institutions confronting increasingly complex cyber risks.
“This partnership with PURA represents a meaningful advancement in our commitment to help regulators strengthen their resilience against evolving cyber threats,” Baig said. “Together, we aim to enhance security postures across Gambia’s Critical National Infrastructure organizations.”
Highlighting the strategic importance of the agreement, PURA Director General Dr. Njogou L. Bah described the MoU as a major step forward in national cybersecurity efforts.
“This collaboration marks a significant step toward strengthening national cybersecurity efforts in The Gambia,” Dr Bah said.
“CTM360 will leverage its expertise to conduct extensive cybersecurity assessments across PURA’s IT infrastructure and other critical national infrastructures. Both parties will also develop a cybersecurity maturity assessment model aligned with national objectives.”
As part of the agreement, CTM360 will provide its Community Edition cybersecurity platform free of charge to all Gambian CNIs.
The partnership will further promote information sharing, capacity building, and joint cybersecurity initiatives aimed at improving preparedness and response across sectors.
The MoU underscores The Gambia’s growing commitment to building a safer and more secure digital environment for citizens, institutions, and critical services.
Both CTM360 and PURA said they will continue to explore additional areas of collaboration to address emerging cyber risks and strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure nationwide.
