Gambiaj.com – (DOHA) – Qatar University (QU) has signed a groundbreaking agreement aimed at revolutionizing business education in Africa. The agreement brings together the College of Business and Economics at QU and several prestigious business schools across the continent, including The University of The Gambia, The Business School at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, the University of Ghana Business School, and the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
The signing ceremony, held in Doha, marks a significant milestone in enhancing curriculum development, scientific research, and strategic management in business education. The agreement also seeks to promote academic exchange and collaboration among faculty members and students from the participating institutions.
One of the key objectives of the partnership is to facilitate joint research projects, student exchanges, and faculty development programs. It also aims to promote the sharing of best practices and innovative teaching methods to improve the quality of business education in Africa.
Dr. Omar Al Ansari, President of QU, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “This initiative embodies the spirit of solidarity and underscores the importance of academic cooperation in building a dynamic framework for education, improving curricula, and enhancing research capacity.”
The partnership with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) further strengthens the commitment to academic excellence and the development of high-quality education that aligns with global standards.
H E Khalifa Al Kuwari, Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), highlighted the organization’s goal to enhance the quality of business education in partner countries through intellectual exchanges, capacity-building initiatives, and strategic collaboration.
Ihsan Zakri from AACSB commended the agreement, stating, “Today’s signing is a testament to the power of international cooperation in advancing the quality of business education worldwide.”
Dr. Lamin B. Ceesay, Dean of the School of Business and Public Administration at The University of The Gambia, emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative, noting, “Our engagement in this initiative is a strategic move towards enhancing our educational frameworks and equipping our students with world-class competencies.”
The ultimate goal of the agreement is to create a network of business schools that can work together to address the challenges facing the business community in Africa and contribute to the continent’s economic development.
