Saudi and Gambian Foreign Ministers Discuss Joint Arab-Islamic Efforts on Palestine Issue

Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – On Sunday, Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mamadou Tangara, engaged in a critical phone call with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, to address the ongoing Palestinian issue. The conversation focused on recent developments and strategies to bolster joint Arab and Islamic actions aimed at securing the legitimate rights of Palestine and its people.

Initiated by Prince Faisal, the call was part of a broader diplomatic effort that included discussions with foreign ministers from Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey. In his dialogue with Tangara, the Saudi diplomat underscored the importance of Arab-Islamic cooperation in advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, ensuring the restoration of Palestinian rights, and halting Israeli violations of international and humanitarian laws.

During the conversation, the two ministers reviewed the latest events unfolding in Palestine, with a shared commitment to supporting Palestinian aspirations for sovereignty. The talks highlighted the urgent need for a ceasefire and stressed the importance of unified Arab and Islamic efforts in achieving a fair resolution to the conflict.

Prince Faisal’s diplomatic outreach also included conversations with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Ayman Safadi, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. These discussions further emphasized the necessity of intensified coordination to prevent further violations of international law and to champion the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people.

The call between Tangara and Prince Faisal marks a continued commitment from both nations to work collaboratively within the Arab and Islamic spheres to support the Palestinian cause and seek a peaceful resolution to the long-standing conflict.
