Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) has announced that schools across The Gambia will officially reopen on Monday, 22nd September 2025, marking the start of the 2025/2026 academic year.
In a public notice issued by the Ministry’s Communications Unit, MoBSE informed stakeholders—including parents, teachers, and students—of the resumption date and outlined logistical arrangements aimed at ensuring a smooth start to the school year.
As part of these preparations, transportation will be provided for teachers serving away from the Greater Banjul Area on Saturday, 20th September 2025, two days before classes resume.
According to the Ministry, the pickup schedule will be as follows:
- Pickup Point 1: Gambia Teachers’ Union (GTU), Kanifing – 8:00 a.m.
- Pickup Point 2: The Gambia College, Brikama – 8:00 a.m.
Teachers are urged to take note of the dates and times to ensure timely arrival at their respective schools.
