Gambiaj.com – (EDINBURGH, Scotland) – Hearts FC has announced the signing of versatile Gambian striker Musa Drammeh on a three-year contract, pending international clearance and Scottish FA approval. Drammeh, 22, joins the Jambos following the expiry of his contract with La Liga side Sevilla, where he played a crucial role in their B-team’s promotion from the Segunda Federación, scoring ten goals in 32 appearances.
Born and raised in the Barcelona region, Drammeh holds Gambian citizenship and has been described as an “exciting young talent” by Hearts Head Coach Steven Naismith.
Standing at 6ft 2in, Drammeh is known for his pace and direct attacking style. He is capable of playing on either wing or as a central striker, offering Hearts a dynamic new option in their forward line. Drammeh began his career at Catalan club CE Mataro before moving to Extremadura in 2020, where he gained experience in the Copa del Rey and Spanish third tier.
In January 2022, Drammeh joined Sevilla Atlético, the reserve team of Sevilla FC, which has historically been a stepping stone for players like Sergio Ramos and Jesus Navas. His performances attracted interest from English Championship sides Cardiff City and Sunderland, with the latter having a bid rejected for the young forward.
“Musa is an exciting young talent with loads of positive attributes. He’s quick, physical, and direct, and he’ll offer us something different going forward,” Naismith said on the Hearts official website. “He’s got a real appetite to learn and we believe we can help develop him into a top player. We’ve got real competition in our forward areas now, and the experience in there is something Musa will be able to lean on, which will allow him time to settle. I’m sure he’ll fit into our group really well, and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
With Drammeh’s arrival, Hearts are strengthening their attacking options, aiming for a successful campaign ahead. The club and its supporters are eager to see how the Gambian star will adapt to the Scottish Premiership and contribute to the team’s ambitions.
