Senegalese members of parliament Abass Fall and Guy Marius Sagna have been released from custody, along with Gérard Koïta, according to their lawyer, Sheikh Khoureychi Bâ.
“The honorable MPs Guy Marius Sagna and Abass Fall were finally released after a long wait at the Dakar Central Commission. Gérard Koïta and the two staff members of Rector Mary Teuw Niane also left the police station,” Sheikh Khoureychi Bâ stated.
Abass Fall and Guy Marius Sagna were arrested by the police of Unit 15 of the Assainies Parcelles Assainies and put at the disposal of the Urban Security of the Dakar Central Police Station.
Meanwhile, in Pikine, Seydina Oumar Touré was released on Wednesday, February 7, as were Deputy Sheikh Aliou Béye and Sheikh Bassirou Dieng, a close associate to former Prime ministre Mimi Touré.
The former captain of the gendarmerie and company spent last night in custody on the premises of the central police station in Guédiawaye. They had been placed in custody following their reactions to President Macky Sall’s cancellation of the presidential election date.
