State House, Banjul – Along with his staff, Lieutenant General Mbaye Cissé, the Chief of General Staff of the Senegalese Armed Forces, paid His Excellency Mohammed B.S. Jallow, the Vice President of the Gambia, a courtesy call today. Major General Mamat O. Cham, the Chief of Defense Staff of the Gambia Armed Forces, and Hon. Sering Modou Njie, the Minister of Defense, were present at the meeting, the office of the Vice-president has informed.
Lieutenant General Cissé came to pay his respects and offer his best wishes to Vice President Jallow. Important talks were held about how the armed forces of both countries could work together to successfully handle shared security issues.
According to the communications of the OVP, “The meeting demonstrated Senegal’s and The Gambia’s dedication to developing a relationship that transcends simple proximity. Lieutenant General Cissé was upbeat about the meetings’ fruitful conclusions and the possibility of future improvements to cooperation.”
The continuous efforts of both nations to fortify regional alliances and advance security and peace in the West African subregion are reflected in this high-level engagement.
