In its decision issued on Thursday (February 15th), the Senegalese Constitutional Council referred to “the impossibility of holding the presidential election on the date originally planned” to February 25.
The judges in the Senegalese apex court, however, stated in the ruling that the court “invited the competent authorities (the President and his administration) to organize the presidential election as soon as possible.”
Earlier, the Constitutional Council declared President Macky Sall’s decree postponing the presidential election illegal.
