Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – The Serekunda Police have launched an investigation into the tragic death of a 12-year-old boy, Modou Lamin Ceesay, who reportedly died from electrocution at a DARA (Islamic learning center) in Serekunda Bartez.

The incident occurred on Thursday, July 10, 2025, prompting a swift response from the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit. Investigators visited the scene and inspected the corrugated metal roof where the alleged electrocution took place as they worked to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

Police say that the father of the deceased, Mr. Suwaibu Ceesay, as well as the owner of the DARA, Ahmad Touray, and other staff members, are fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
