Gambiaj.com – (DAKAR, Senegal) – The unfolding investigation into the murder of Aziz Dabala has taken a gripping turn as details emerge about Nabou Lèye, the only woman implicated in the case. Nabou, a close friend of the victim, has become the focal point of the inquiry due to compelling evidence linking her to the crime.
According to reports from the Criminal Investigations Division, Nabou Lèye played a critical role in the events leading up to Aziz Dabala’s tragic death. Investigators have revealed that Nabou dropped Aziz off on the way to Nietty Mbar instead of taking him home, a detail that raises suspicions about her intentions.
The situation worsened when it was discovered that several key suspects, including Mamadou Lamine Diao, Ousseynou Diao, Assane Diao, Serigne Sarr, and Fallou Diop (still at large), had followed Aziz to his residence. These individuals were all present near the crime scene, both during and after the fatal altercation. Phone records show that these suspects communicated extensively on the day of the murder.
Investigators from the Senegalese DIC suspect that, contrary to his claims, Assane Diao was present during the double murder and may have inflicted the fatal stab wound on Aziz Dabala. The police also observed multiple injuries on Diao’s body and questioned him about their origin. He confessed that the injuries were sustained during a struggle with his victim.
Adding to the intrigue, Serigne Sarr (also arrested) reportedly made multiple calls to Nabou Lèye before he “discovered” the bodies on Tuesday evening, further complicating her claims of innocence.
A crucial piece of evidence against Nabou Lèye is the location of her phone at the time of the murder. Although she stated to the police that she was at home in Nietty Mbar, her phone was traced to the vicinity of the building where the murder occurred between 12:00 AM and 12:30 AM. This discrepancy casts significant doubt on her account.
Furthermore, the day after the murder, Nabou remained in constant communication with Mr. L. Diaw and S. Sarr, keeping in touch until August 20, two days after the crime. On the night of the murder, Nabou was also active on WhatsApp until 4 a.m., but when questioned by investigators, she claimed to have forgotten who she was speaking with.
Investigators believe that the group had planned to extort money from Aziz Dabala, a well-known dancer. When he refused, the situation escalated, leading to a violent struggle. The alleged killer, in a fit of rage, reportedly threatened Aziz with a knife before fatally stabbing him.
As the investigation continues, the role of Nabou Lèye and her alleged involvement in the crime has become a subject of intense scrutiny. The case, which has captivated public attention, raises disturbing questions about the extent of her involvement and the chilling events that led to Aziz Dabala’s untimely death.
Meanwhile, all the suspects will be processed and brought before the public prosecutor at the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court for indictment this Tuesday.
