A stakeholder engagement workshop focusing on the second phase of the Gambia National Single Window project was recently convened by Nick TC Scan Gambia and the Gambia Revenue Authority. The workshop, held on March 26, 2024, at the Gambia National Single Window Office in Serrekunda, centered on discussions regarding duty waiver processes.
The primary aim of the event was to enhance communication and collaboration among key stakeholders. Mr. Musa Saidykhan, the Project Manager for the Gambia National Single Window System, delivered a comprehensive presentation during the workshop. He outlined the architecture of the Single Window System, highlighting key components such as Digital Weighbridge, Non-Intrusive Container Scanning, Cargo Tracking System, and E-tracking. Mr. Saidykhan underscored the importance of these components in enabling the Gambia Revenue Authority to enhance revenue collection efficiency and streamline operations.
One of the key focal points of the engagement was the automation of duty waiver application procedures. This area of focus is crucial for expediting trade facilitation and fostering economic growth. Participants engaged in discussions on how to enhance automation and streamline administrative processes related to duty waiver mechanisms.
The collaborative session enabled stakeholders to gain a better understanding of the project’s objectives and align themselves accordingly. It is expected that such interactions will play a pivotal role in propelling the Gambia National Single Window Project forward, ensuring consistent and effective revenue collection for the country’s development.
