New NPP recruit, Momodou Sabally has this morning met with President Adama Barrow and his National Peoples’ Party (NPP) executive at State House, in Banjul.
Momodou Sabally formally endorsed President Adama Barrow and pledged loyalty to the NPP during the meeting. He was given a Ford Ranger and given the nickname “Barrow la Generalo.”
Momodou Sabally submitted his official resignation to the United Democratic Party on Wednesday shortly after credible information began circulating in local media about his intention to leave Ousainou Darboe’s political formation.
In his resignation letter, Sabally invoked “the best interest” of UDP and himself as the primary reason for his departure.
It is not clear what other discussions between president Barrow and Momodou Sabally was about, apart from the usual salamaleks and the welcome civilities.
