Camara, who allegedly fled the scene after the September 6 incident, was apprehended in Las Palmas and handed over to the Basse Police on Monday, October 7, by a concerned citizen.
The tragic altercation unfolded on the night of September 6 in Basse Koba Kunda Las Palmas. According to reports, a scuffle erupted between Camara and Jallow, during which Camara allegedly stabbed Jallow in the chest. Though Jallow was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, he was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Following the incident, Camara reportedly fled across the border to Vélingara in Senegal in an effort to evade Gambian authorities. The police subsequently launched an intensive manhunt, urging the public to provide any leads on the suspect’s whereabouts. The arrest came after he was spotted in Las Palmas, drawing relief from the community, which has been grappling with the impact of the violent event.
