Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – In the early hours of Friday morning, the University of The Gambia’s Law Faculty was the target of a suspected arson attack, leaving significant parts of the building in ruins. The fire, which broke out around 5 a.m., completely destroyed the Law Faculty Moot Court and the Office of the Director of University Students Affairs.
The flames spread rapidly through the building, causing extensive damage. Authorities are currently investigating the incident, seeking to uncover the motives behind the attack and whether there was an intention to set the entire campus ablaze.
The university community has been left in a state of shock and sorrow following the destruction of such a vital part of the campus. The incident has sparked widespread concern and solidarity among students, faculty, and staff, who have expressed their disbelief at the deliberate targeting of an educational institution.
Law enforcement officers promptly visited the scene and have begun a thorough investigation, aiming
