Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL) – In a bid to enhance the culture of reading and elevate library standards in tertiary institutions, the Association of Non-Governmental Organizations (TANGO) partnered with Book Aid International to donate 80 books to the University of The Gambia (UTG) and the Management Development Institute (MDI).
This initiative aims to provide students and faculty members with access to a diverse range of educational resources, fostering a love for reading and lifelong learning. The donated books cover a wide array of subjects, including literature, science, history, and business, catering to the academic needs of students across various disciplines.
Additionally, TANGO and Book Aid International are working closely with university officials to establish a sustainable library program that promotes a culture of reading and research within the academic community.
All speakers at the handover ceremony, held at the TANGO conference hall, emphasized the need to promote reading culture, improve library standards, and enhance student intellect.
