Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL) – The Gambia’s annual Global Passport Power Rank 2024 has seen a significant improvement, moving up to 68th place in 2024. This advancement reflects an increase in the mobility score, which measures the ease with which passport holders can travel internationally.

Gambian passport holders now enjoy visa-free access to 43 countries, visa-on-arrival in 27 countries, and need an electronic travel authorization (eTA) for 3 countries, culminating in a mobility score of 73.

A Year of Progress

Compared to 2023, The Gambia’s passport ranking has improved notably. Last year, it was positioned at 77th with a combined visa-free and visa-on-arrival access to 69 countries. The rise to 68th place in 2024, along with increased access to 73 countries, marks a positive trend in the strength and international recognition of the Gambian passport. This enhancement in global mobility is a testament to the country’s ongoing diplomatic efforts and international relations.

Guinea is anked 91st with access to 57 countries. Guinea-Bissau is ranked 81st with access to 63 countries, and Mauritania is ranked 85th with access to 58 countries.

The Gambia’s superior ranking among these West African nations underscores its better global mobility, allowing its citizens more freedom to travel without the need for prior visas.
