Trump Safe After Gunshots Reported Near Florida Golf Course; Secret Service and Local Authorities Investigating

Palm Beach

Gambiaj.com – (PALM BEACH, Florida) – Former President Donald Trump is confirmed safe after gunshots were reported near his vicinity in Florida on Sunday, according to his campaign team. Trump, who was at his Palm Beach golf course at the time, was unharmed in the incident, though further details have yet to be provided by authorities.

President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” Trump communications director Steven Cheung said in a statement.

The exact nature of the incident remains unclear, including whether Trump was the intended target. A joint investigation by the Secret Service and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is currently underway, with a media briefing scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi took to social media platform X, confirming that the agency is collaborating with local law enforcement in response to a “protective incident” involving Trump, which occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Guglielmi reiterated that Trump was safe.

Trump’s campaign swiftly released a fundraising email titled “I am safe and well!” Within hours of the incident, the former president reassured his supporters, stating, “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL! Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER.” He concluded with a message of unity and gratitude, invoking his familiar slogan, “Make America Great Again.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were both briefed on the incident, according to a White House pool report. Harris later took to X, expressing her relief. “Violence has no place in America,” she wrote, underscoring her gladness that Trump was unharmed.

The reported gunshots come nearly two months after an assassination attempt on Trump’s life at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. In that incident, Trump was struck in the ear by a bullet, and one spectator was killed, while two others sustained injuries. The shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was fatally shot by authorities shortly after the attack.

The July shooting raised serious concerns over the Secret Service’s preparedness in protecting the former president, culminating in the resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle following a contentious congressional hearing into the agency’s response.

The Justice Department is currently investigating the July assassination attempt through the FBI.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) confirmed he spoke with Trump following the reported gunshots in Florida. “He [Trump] is one of the strongest people I’ve ever known,” Graham posted on X, adding that Trump is in “good spirits” and “more resolved than ever to save our country.”

As investigations into the latest incident continue, the Trump campaign has vowed that the former president will remain steadfast in his mission, with his supporters rallying behind him as he moves forward in his presidential bid.
