Recently, Momodou Sabally left the opposition UDP for the ruling NPP. The president of the group ‘No to Third Term’ has warned Sabally not to be used by President Adama Barrow against Ousainu Darboe, signaling the UDP’s intention not to spark fire by provoking Sabally.
Lamin Sillah, quoted by Standard Newspaper, stated that the UDP has treated Sabally with the utmost respect and will not target him for his decision to join a different party. Sillah, on the other hand, expects Sabally to behave similarly.
Mr. Sillah warns that Sabally’s new NPP friends are targeting the UDP leader more than their official work, but he is impressed with Sabally’s conduct so far, as he has avoided castigating his former party and even praised its leader, Ousainu Darboe.
It’s interesting to note that Sillah has urged UDP supporters to preserve their ties with Sabally’s family members for the benefit of all people. Nothing can stop the UDP’s party from continuing its fight to save the nation from its current “terrible situation,” according to Mr. Sillah.
