Gambiaj.com – (DAKAR, Senegal) – The Vice President of The Gambia, Mohammed B.S. Jallow, has embarked on a significant two-day working visit to Senegal. Upon arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, with whom he is set to have a comprehensive working session.
Government sources in Banjul say the visit underscores the commitment of both nations to bolster the long-standing ties of friendship and cooperation that have defined their relationship.
Discussions will center on reinforcing existing ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration. Vice President Jallow and his delegation will meet with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to deliberate on the unique bilateral relationship deeply rooted in shared history, geography, culture, and development.
A key focus of the visit will be addressing common challenges and seeking solutions through mutual understanding and support. Vice President Jallow is expected to discuss regional issues of common interest and explore ways to enhance economic and trade relations between The Gambia and Senegal.
This engagement highlights the dedication of both nations to work together for the mutual benefit and progress of their people.
Accompanying the Vice President are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, the Minister of Fisheries and Water Resources, the Minister of Defense, and other senior officials.
