Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – The Gambia Police Force has launched an investigation into the alleged murder of 60-year-old Elizabeth Sanga in Old Yundum, following a violent confrontation involving a 31-year-old suspect, Kemo Manneh.
According to a police statement, the incident occurred after Sanga intervened in an altercation, which escalated into a deadly attack. The statement further revealed that a 12-year-old girl, identified as the niece of the deceased, was also involved in the incident. The minor, whose father resides in Bissau, is the biological daughter of Sanga’s brother.
Authorities confirmed that Manneh has been taken into custody as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The police have assured the public of a thorough inquiry and urged the community to remain calm as they work to establish the facts of the case.
