Senegalese Army Launches New Operation to Combat Hemp Cultivation and Trafficking in Casamance Border
Gambiaj;com – (BIGNONA, Senegal) – Since October 7, 2024, the Senegalese military has launched an extensive crackdown on hemp cultivation and illegal logging in northern Sindian’s Djibidione, Dieye-Djondji, Massaran, Balla Bassène, and Nialé regions. These areas, situated near the Gambian border, have become hotbeds for hemp cultivation, drawing renewed government attention as trafficking activities have surged to concerning levels.
