Ghana’s Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea to Referee Key AFCON Qualifier Between Tunisia and The Gambia

Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – Renowned Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea has been selected to officiate the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between Tunisia and The Gambia on Monday, November 18, 2024. The high-stakes match, set for 20:00 at Stade Olympique de Radès, will be crucial for both teams as they seek qualification in the prestigious continental tournament.

Laryea will lead a skilled Ghanaian officiating team, bringing along Kwasi Acheampong Brobbey as Assistant Referee I and Roland Nii Dodoo Addy as Assistant Referee II. Charles Benle Bulu will complete the team as the Fourth Official.

The match will also feature an experienced international lineup of officials, with Joel Amarante Ramos Barros of Cape Verde assigned as Match Commissioner, Togo’s Latré-Kayi Edzona Lawson-Hogban as Referee Assessor, Imad Eddine Mahamdioua from Algeria as Security Officer, and Ahmed Khemiri of Tunisia serving as Broadcast Venue Manager.

His experience also extends to high-profile Video Assistant Referee (VAR) roles, notably in the CAF Champions League clash between Raja Casablanca and Al Ahly, as well as in the 2023 AFCON hosted by Côte d’Ivoire.

Laryea’s selection as the center referee underscores his reputation as a trusted and competent official in African football, and his presence is expected to bring confidence and quality to the officiating of this critical match.
