Netanyahu announces he was diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer

Gambiaj.com – (TEL AVIV, Israel) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underwent treatment for prostate cancer in recent months and has made a complete recovery, he announced on social media Friday. His revelation comes with the U.S. and Israel mired in a shaky ceasefire in their war against Iran.

Doctors discovered a malignant tumor “of less than a centimeter” on Netanyahu’s prostate in a routine medical checkup roughly a year and a half after he had surgery for an enlarged prostate, he wrote on X. The cancer had not metastasized.

When I am given timely information about a possible threat, I want to deal with it immediately,” he wrote. “This is true on a national level as well as on a personal level. That’s what I did.”

Netanyahu’s revelation comes with the U.S. and Israel mired in a shaky ceasefire in their war against Iran. Israel has said it’s prepared to resume fighting if negotiations fail. Only 10 percent of Israelis called the campaign a significant success in an April poll released after the ceasefire first took hold.

Netanyahu, 76, said that he’d requested a two-month delay in the publication of his annual medical report “so as not to allow the terrorist regime in Iran to spread more false propaganda against Israel” during the early phase of the U.S. and Israel’s joint operation.

The diagnosis is “very common in people my age,” he wrote.

I had some short treatments done, read a book, and continued working,” he wrote. “The spot is completely gone. Thank God I won this battle too.
