Gambiaj.com – (BAKAU, The Gambia) – The community of Bakau is in mourning following the tragic drowning of the owner of Al Furqan Institute, Kebba Wada, and four of his children at Cape Point Beach on Sunday.
According to information obtained by this medium, the family had gone to the beach for a picnic when the incident occurred.
Sources close to the family said several of the children encountered difficulties while swimming in the sea. In an attempt to rescue them, Kebba Wada quickly entered the water.
Two of his sons were successfully rescued during the ordeal. However, Kebba Wada and four of his other children—identified as Khadijah, Muhammed, Mariam, and Sumayah—tragically drowned.
The incident has left the Bakau community in deep shock, with many residents struggling to come to terms with the loss of the well-known educator and his children.
Meanwhile, one of the children who was rescued is reported to be in a coma and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The incident has triggered an outpouring of grief in Bakau, where Kebba Wada was widely known through his leadership of the Islamic school and his involvement in community life.
